big big canadian congratuations!!!

well, today was a sweet and exciting day. a friend of mine, who has just joined us at Pink Twig last year has  been proposed to by her long-term love. Ann and Rhys are Australians, visiting Canada after they traveled South America. An amazing couple as well as really great, adorable people  who i now call friends~ i could not be happier for the both of them.  and for it to happen in a wintery carpet of snow (pretty foreign to them) is also is going to make this a life – long memory for the two of them. i am so so SO happy for you kids, and yes, i did almost cry with excitement! you deserve the best !

i just stumbled upon this amazing photographer in this weird astrology blog i somehow ended up on….anywho, his photography took my breath away. then i read a brief bit about him, and learned that most people think he’s a tad odd, so i decided i liked him even more. creep his website, …….crushworthy?  helllllllssss yes!

also, last night we went to see “black swan”. great movie, even though i covered my eyes in a few parts!!
thumbs up for this one. go see it!
p.s i am thankful for my mother after seeing this, and realizing she could be way crazier. after all, i never had to collect any sticks to prop against my door so she wouldn’t some barging into my room. who sleeps in their child’s room to monitor them past the age of 4? (much less a young woman in her 20s?)

so, gabe and i spent a lazy day doing not much of anything yesterday, and decided to watch a movie.
his choice, of course, so i went for it. the film was a documentary called “catfish”, about a guy who has a strange meeting and later on encounter with someone who finds him, and “gets to know him” via facebook…….
it was a pretty crazy concept, and very true to form in all aspects of how we live and communicate and how exposed we are with social media sites and the internet…..MEGLA creepy!!!!!!!
i think people need to see this shit….

NYE 2011

well, we sure did ring in the new year with a bang last night. so much i am still feeling it this evening.
friends, drink and food~ life is great. oh, and we had a BALLOON DROP!!!! (in our apartment)
so, thanks to you who came and spent it with us, and for those who didn’t, we missed you!
it is so great to have seen my friends from halifax again, after so long without partying with them.
we were a few men short, but we did the damn thing just as well.
here’s to a great new year to come in 2011 for everyone.
